This assignment was to create an Urban Vision Plan in Sant' Elena in Venice, Italy. Sant' Elena is on the southeastern part of Venice. The island is currently occupied by industrial buildings in the northern most part and residential in the southern part. But, ultimately it is isolated from the rest of Venice.
The goal of this project was to create a vision plan that re introduced Sant' Elena to the rest of Venice. My group decided to continue the green belt along the outside of the side, to add more greenery to the site and to protect it from flooding. We also created a large fondamenta on the right side to allow for more access to the new site. The main campo is a focal point in the site and was much needed as there was a lack of public space on the island. Our main objective as a group was to create a plan that brought more people into Sant' Elena and also celebrated some of the existing features of the island.
