This assignment was during my fall semester of my third year of architecture school. The project was to design a public and private building, based on the Urban Vision Plan of Sant' Elena in Venice.
For this project I wanted to focus on some of the key elements of the site, the main campo and the fondamenta. To give emphasis to these two elements I created a dance studio facing the campo and restaurants facing the fondamenta. My hope in this design was to create a building that was ultimately a "bridge" in the site creating foot traffic throughout the site and bringing in an assortment of different people to Sant' Elena. I also designed office space and residential units in the upper floors, thus creating a diverse building that caters to a wide group of people.
